My last night in the US!!!!
So here are a few numbers...

# of boys-4
# of steps up the rocky steps-72
# of times I thought I was going to die from humidity while running to and up the rocky steps-1000
# of hours I will be on a plane tomorrow-16+ (7 to brussels then 9 to nairobi then a little more to entebbe but I didn't add that in because I don't know the actual #)

# of minutes I may, possibly, if everything goes well, have to make one phone call to a family member once I arrive in uganda-3
I have to run now (internet time is a prized possession these days), but you get the picture... I am so thanksful for all the warm wishes though and thanks also to everyone that came to the BBQ friday and wrote in my book! you will help me get through those rough days that I know will come...
bye for now! I probably won't have internet for a couple weeks-but I'll write when I can

Sista Sista!!
I'm excited to hear that all is going well and that you're meeting good people. I looked up Luwero, but there isn't much out there about it. Apparently bee farming is big there, so really, what more could you ask for?! I already have a million things I want to tell you, so trust there will be a very lengthly letter coming your way soon!! I love you!!!!

Sarah!
I've been thinking about you and sending a whole lot of happy your way! You're doing an amazing thing, chickie. I can't wait to hear all from you although I know the plan for communication during my six week AK adventure was a lot harder to put into practice than I thought it would be :)
Love,
Shelley
Sarah called at 6:09 a.m. (PST) from the Banana Resort (4:09 p.m. Uganda time)! She had a long delay in Brussels, but is safe in Africa now. She said it's beautiful! She & her fellow PCVs are having to boil the water, there is no electricity, and the food is "different, but good." She's been given a 1st Aid kit, another dose of anti-malarial medicine, & she'll be heading to Luwero (n. of Kampala) on Sunday, where she'll meet the family she'll be residing with until October. She's already learned a few words of Luganda. We love you, Sarah! mom
Sarah,
Wow, I can't believe how much time you had to spend on planes! I think I might have gone crazy. I bet it probably took you that long to read through that book though! There was a lot of good stuff in there. Just proof of how much we all love you. I miss you tons and think about you every day. I have been bragging to everyone I know about you going to Uganda and all the great things you are doing. I love you and can't wait to hear from you when you get all settled in!
Love, CJ
PS Mike says hi and sends his love.
Sarah Burke, you never cease to amaze me. I hope that GCC expansion is going well, Uganda Chapter ;) It sounds like such an amazing experience! I love you and I miss you and I can't wait to hear more about your life there. Good luck with the bathing and bathroom-ing...you should ask Nikki for some tips on the latter, she's good.
Love Always, Michelle
