PS
I forgot to say... thanks everyone for you're great commetns, even though I amnot able to respond to all of them I really so read and appreciate all of them!
Hello everyone--- Sarah was involved in a bus accident today (9/5/07) --- SHE IS OK, but it was quite a harrowing experience. None of the PC Trainees was injured seriously (they were driving from Kampala to Luwero), but Sarah received minor cuts on her neck from shattered glass (she was at the back of the bus, and a freight truck rear-ended them). No one was killed, but Sarah's description of the non-existant emergency medical services was quite amazing! Local people extricated the truck's driver, and took his bloodied body to the nearest hospital(?) The Peace Corps sent another vehicle to pick up the PCTs and bring them home. All is well now...but it seems the excitement never ends. --- susan
SARAH!!! I miss you!!! I seriously think about you AT LEAST once a day. But you must be having a GREAT time and loving every moment of it. I heard about the bus accident! That sounds scary, but I'm so glad you are okay!!!
hey sarah! wow, i am a bad friend! i have some letters i want to send to you, i'm not sure which address to use. i'm sure you know that i think about you constantly and i love you soo much and i miss you terribly. but i am soo excited for you and can't wait to hear about everything! im glad you're safe, no more bus rides for you:) LOVE YOU SB!!!
hello everyone--- Sarah received her Peace Corps assignment! She'll be working with an RN doing home-based health care in an area north of Mbarara, in south-west Uganda. I believe her counterpoint [the RN] works in association with a Catholic hospital or clinic. I'm sure there will be many more details come October! --- susan
